Brow Tattoo Removal in Salt Lake City
Unwanted brow pigment can happen for many reasons — outdated shape, color changes over time, migration, saturation, or previous permanent makeup that no longer fits your features. At Utah Laser PMU & Tattoo Removal, we specialize in laser brow tattoo removal for clients throughout West Jordan and the greater Salt Lake City area.
Our treatments are designed specifically for cosmetic tattoo pigment, including old microblading, powder brows, nano brows, soft tap and traditional permanent makeup.
Why Clients Choose Brow Removal
Clients seek brow tattoo removal for many different reasons:
brows that have turned grey, blue, red, or orange
shape that no longer fits the face
pigment saturation from repeated touch-ups
migration outside the brow pattern
preparation for new permanent makeup correction
Because cosmetic tattoo pigments differ from body tattoo ink, brow removal requires a careful approach based on pigment type, ink composition, and previous treatment history.

How Many Sessions Are Needed?
The number of sessions depends on:
pigment depth
ink type
color used
age of the tattoo
previous removal attempts
Some brows lighten quickly, while others require multiple sessions for full correction.
Brow Removal Before Correction
Many clients choose brow removal to lighten old permanent makeup before new brow work.
Because we also understand permanent makeup correction, treatments are approached with long-term brow design in mind.
How Laser Brow Removal Works
Laser energy targets unwanted pigment beneath the skin and breaks it into smaller particles so the body can gradually clear it over time.
Some brow pigments lighten quickly, while others may temporarily shift in color depending on ingredients such as iron oxide or titanium dioxide.
Because permanent makeup pigments vary widely, each treatment plan is customized to your brows.
What to Expect During Treatment
Most brow removal sessions are quick, and many clients describe treatment as very tolerable.
Healing typically includes:
mild redness
slight swelling
temporary darkening or lightening of pigment
gradual fading over several weeks
Sessions are spaced to allow the skin and pigment to respond safely.
Why Experience Matters
Cosmetic tattoo removal is different from standard tattoo removal.
Understanding permanent makeup pigment behavior is essential when treating brows that may contain iron oxide, organic blends, or corrective colors. These molecules all behave differently when lasered, for more information click here.
That is why brow removal should be performed by someone familiar with both pigment placement and pigment response.

Common Brow Removal Questions Answered
What is the downtime?
Downtime for laser brow removal is just 24 hours. You can acute mild swelling and redness which typically subsides quickly. In most cases, you can apply makeup 24 hours after receiving treatment.
How many sessions are required?
Sessions required varies widely and is based upon the ink that was implanted into the skin, the amount of times you’ve been tattooed or bladed, the depth of the tattoo, whether or not there is scar tissue and your body’s ability to break down the ink through your lymphatic system. Average sessions ranges from 1-6.
Will I scab and flake/peel?
Because our machines are made for PMU removal and techs are trained how to properly remove ink from delicate facial tissue, scabbing and flaking rarely happens. This is mostly due to improper treatment settings. This is one of the things that sets us apart from traditional tattoo removal shops. We aim to remove as much ink as possible without causing excess trauma to the skin. Over-treating the skin can cause scarring and/or hypo or hyper-pigmentation.
