Utah Laser PMU Removal- serving Salt Lake City

Eyeliner Tattoo Removal in Salt Lake City

Permanent eyeliner can enhance the eyes, but over time some clients choose removal because the shape no longer fits, pigment has faded unevenly, migrated, or healed darker than desired. At Utah Laser PMU & Tattoo Removal, we provide laser eyeliner tattoo removal for clients in Salt Lake City, and surrounding Utah areas.

Because the eye area requires precision and caution, eyeliner removal is approached carefully based on pigment type, placement, and previous tattoo history.

Why Clients Choose Eyeliner Removal

Clients seek eyeliner tattoo removal for many reasons:

  • outdated shape or thickness

  • faded pigment that appears blue, grey, or uneven

  • migration outside the lash line

  • asymmetry between eyes

  • preparation for future correction or refreshed eyeliner work

Cosmetic eyeliner pigment behaves differently than body tattoo ink, so treatment must be customized.

Eyeliner Removal Before Correction

Many clients choose eyeliner removal to soften old pigment before updated permanent eyeliner.

Treatment planning focuses on gradual improvement while protecting delicate tissue around the eyes.

How Laser Eyeliner Removal Works

Laser energy targets unwanted pigment beneath the skin and breaks it into smaller particles so the body can gradually clear them over time.

Because eyeliner pigments often contain dense dark tones, response can vary depending on the original ink ingredients and how deeply the pigment was implanted.

Each treatment is adjusted carefully to prioritize safety and predictable fading.

Most eyeliner removal sessions are brief and require careful eye protection throughout treatment.

Healing may include:

  • mild to moderate swelling

  • temporary sensitivity

  • slight redness

  • gradual fading over several weeks

Treatments are spaced carefully to allow full tissue recovery.

How Many Sessions Are Needed?

The number of sessions depends on:

  • pigment density

  • ink type

  • age of the eyeliner

  • depth of implantation

  • previous removal attempts

Some eyeliner fades quickly, while saturated pigment may require multiple sessions.

Common Eyeliner Tattoo Questions Answered

How is the Eye Protected?

Protecting the eye during laser eyeliner tattoo removal is the #1 priority.
Appropriately sized smoothed surgical stainless steel shields are inserted into the eye with copious amounts of lubricating ointment prior to firing the laser. The procedure is very fast so the shields only need to be in the eye for about 5 minutes max. As soon as the procedure is compete the shields are removed and the eyes are rinsed thoroughly.

Will I be able to drive following the procedure?

Swelling immediately following the procedure ranges significantly. Ice is applied to comfort level and as much time as you need to feel comfortable driving is given. Most people are just fine to drive immediately after with no issues, occasionally a client is very sensitive and chooses to bring someone to drive them. It is up to the client to decide.

What is the downtime for laser eyeliner removal?l

In most cases, 24 hours is all that is needed before clients are safe to apply makeup and/other creams to the eye as they were before treatment. Occasionally, clients will experience swelling that lasts up to 72 hours, but is not typical. Sleeping elevated following the procedure, applying ice packs as needed and performing manual lymphatic drainage movements to the face can help encourage the lymphatic system to drain the fluid and the ink.
